Getting Groceries to Your Villa in Sóller and the Tramuntana

Prep'd Team 30 August 2026

Mountain villas, stone fincas and village houses in the Tramuntana sit a real, winding drive from a full supermarket, and the village shops are small and close over lunch. There is a good Eroski in Sóller and a big Carrefour on the way up from the motorway, but reaching either after a flight and a hire-car queue is nobody's idea of starting a holiday. This is a quick guide to where the shops are, when they open, and how to have a pack waiting at the villa instead.

Sóller and Port de Sóller

Sóller is the hub of the valley and its biggest shop is the Eroski on Carrer de la Prosperitat, a ten to fifteen minute walk from the centre, well stocked and with parking inside. The town also has a covered market for fruit, veg, meat and fish, a Saturday market worth timing a trip around, and good bakeries and butchers around Carrer de sa Lluna. Down at Port de Sóller you will find smaller local shops and a Spar, handy for topping up between bigger trips.

Local tip: there is a wine and produce cooperative on the road out towards Fornalutx that is well worth a look for local bottles and fresh fruit and veg, often better value than the supermarket.

Fornalutx, Deià and the smaller villages

Fornalutx and Biniaraix are tiny and only really keep small village shops, so for a proper trolley you drop down into Sóller, about three kilometres away but slow on the lanes. Deià is the same story: a couple of small shops for essentials, and Sóller or the Carrefour by the tunnel for anything more. These villages are quiet and beautiful, which is the whole point of staying in them, and also the reason there is no big supermarket on the doorstep.

Local tip: the mountain roads are slower than the distances suggest, with hairpins and the odd tour coach. Whatever the map says, give yourself more time if you are planning to shop the moment you land.

Valldemossa and the Carrefour on the way in

Valldemossa has CoAliment and a few small grocers in the village, fine for bread, wine and basics but not a weekly shop. The big-shop option for this whole stretch of coast is the Carrefour at the roundabout where you turn off the motorway towards Valldemossa and Deià. If you are driving in from the airport or Palma, it is the natural place to stop and do the shop before you climb up into the hills.

Opening hours and Sundays

The Sóller Eroski generally opens Monday to Saturday from around 9am to 9pm in summer, and on Sunday mornings until about 1pm, which makes it one of the more reliable Sunday options up here. The village shops keep shorter hours and usually close over lunch, roughly half past one to five. Hours change between high season and the quieter months, so check before relying on a Sunday or late-afternoon trip.

The easier option: have it delivered

This is what Prep'd does. We do the shop and time the delivery to your arrival, so the kitchen is stocked when you walk in, with your drinks chilled to your preference and no driving the mountain roads on day one. Where the property gives us access before check-in, we put everything inside and get the perishables into the fridge, so it is all waiting before you arrive. You just tell us your arrival time and what you would like chilled. The Essential covers breakfast and kitchen basics, The Sunrise is a week of breakfast for two, and The Climb is ride nutrition for cyclists heading into the Tramuntana. If you would rather choose the items yourself, Build Your Own lets you put together your own order instead of taking a fixed pack, with a €50 minimum and no limit on how much you add. It is the most popular option. You can see everything on the shop page.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the nearest supermarket to a villa in Sóller?

The Eroski on Carrer de la Prosperitat is the biggest shop in the valley, about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the centre, with parking inside. Sóller also has a covered market and a Saturday market for fresh produce.

Is there anywhere to buy food in Fornalutx or Deià?

Both keep small village shops for essentials. For a proper shop you drive down to the Sóller Eroski or, coming from Palma, the Carrefour by the motorway tunnel.

Can I get groceries delivered to a mountain villa?

Yes. Prep'd times delivery to your arrival, with your drinks chilled to your preference and no driving on the lanes. Where the property allows access before check-in, we put everything inside and into the fridge, so it is waiting when you walk in.

Are the shops open on Sundays?

The Sóller Eroski usually opens on Sunday mornings until about 1pm, which is more than most. Village shops are hit and miss on Sundays and close over lunch, so check before you rely on one.

What should I have waiting at the villa for the first morning?

Breakfast, coffee, milk and water are the things worth having ready. Prep'd's Essential pack covers exactly that, and The Climb is a good extra if you are here for the cycling.

Do you only deliver to villas, or to fincas and apartments too?

Any holiday rental. Villas, fincas, apartments, townhouses and holiday homes booked through Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo or an agency are all the same to us. Rural fincas are some of our most common deliveries, because they are usually furthest from a supermarket.
