Getting Groceries to Your Villa in Pollença and Alcúdia

Prep'd Team 22 August 2026

The north of Mallorca has proper supermarkets in Pollensa, Port de Pollença and Alcúdia, so stocking a villa is straightforward once you know where to go. The catch is arrival day: after a flight, a transfer and a hire-car queue, the last thing most people want is to find a supermarket before they can make a coffee. This is a quick guide to where the shops are, when they open, and how to skip the first-day run by having a pack waiting at the villa.

Where to shop near a Pollensa villa

If you are in Pollensa town itself, you can walk to an Eroski on Via Argentina and a Día for the basics. For a bigger shop, the large Eroski sits on the main road between Pollensa and the port, with a Lidl across from it, and that pair is the best choice in the area for a full trolley. You need a car to reach them, which is exactly why guests in the rural villas around La Font, Crestatx or the Boquer valley tend to do one big shop on arrival and top up later.

Local tip: the villas in the Pollensa hills look close to town on a map, but the lanes are slow. Budget more time than the distance suggests if you are planning to shop the moment you land.

Where to shop near an Alcúdia villa

Alcúdia is the most reliable part of the north for a proper shop. There is a Mercadona on Carrer de Pollèntia in the old town and a Lidl a short distance away, both big enough for a week's worth of food. Down in Port d'Alcúdia the main option is the Eroski out towards Avinguda Tucan, plus the usual Spar shops along the front for bread, water and anything you forgot. Playa de Muro and Can Picafort, just along the bay, each have their own supermarkets, so wherever you are on this stretch you are rarely far from one.

Local tip: the seafront Spars are useful for a forgotten carton of milk, but they price for convenience. For the main shop, the Mercadona in Alcúdia town is better value.

Cala San Vicente and the quieter spots

Cala San Vicente is a small, calm cove, which is the appeal, but it means there is no full supermarket there. A couple of local shops cover the essentials, and for anything more you drive the ten or fifteen minutes into Pollensa. If you have chosen somewhere this quiet on purpose, arriving to find you still have to go back out for food rather defeats the point.

Supermarket opening hours and Sundays

Most of the bigger supermarkets in the north open Monday to Saturday from around 9am into the evening. Sundays are the thing to watch. In the summer season many of the larger shops open on Sunday mornings, roughly until early afternoon, but some branches close on Sundays entirely, and it varies year to year. The small seafront and village shops tend to keep longer hours but carry less. Hours also shift between the high season and the shoulder months, so if you are arriving on a Sunday it is worth checking your nearest branch rather than assuming.

This is the part that catches people out. A Saturday-night flight that lands late, or any Sunday arrival, can easily mean every useful shop is shut by the time you reach the villa.

The easier option: have it delivered

This is what Prep'd does. We do the shop and time the delivery to your arrival, so the kitchen is stocked when you walk in, with your drinks chilled to your preference and ready to open after the journey. Where the property gives us access before check-in, we put everything inside and get the perishables into the fridge, so it is all waiting before you arrive. You just tell us your arrival time and what you would like chilled. The Essential covers breakfast and kitchen basics, The Sunrise is a week of breakfast for two, and there are packs for the beach and for the wine on the terrace. If you would rather choose the items yourself, Build Your Own lets you put together your own order instead of taking a fixed pack, with a €50 minimum and no limit on how much you add. It is the most popular option. You can see everything on the shop page.

It does not replace your holiday shopping. It just means the first morning, and the awkward late or Sunday arrival, are sorted before you walk in.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the nearest supermarket to a villa in Pollensa?

For a big shop, the large Eroski on the main road between Pollensa and Port de Pollença, with a Lidl opposite, is the best choice, though you need a car. In Pollensa town itself there is a smaller Eroski on Via Argentina and a Día.

Is there a supermarket in Port de Pollença?

Yes. There is an Eroski near the marina, a Hiper Centro, and several Spar shops along the seafront. The Spars are handy but more expensive, so most people use them for top-ups rather than the main shop.

Can I get groceries delivered to a villa in the north of Mallorca?

Yes. Prep'd times delivery to your arrival, with your drinks chilled to your preference. Where the property allows access before check-in, we put everything inside and into the fridge, so it is waiting when you walk in.

Are the supermarkets open on Sundays?

Many of the larger shops open on Sunday mornings in summer, but some close on Sundays and hours change by season, so check your nearest branch if you are arriving on a Sunday. Small seafront and village shops usually keep longer hours.

What should I have waiting at the villa for the first morning?

Breakfast, coffee, milk and water are the things worth having ready before you arrive. Prep'd's Essential pack covers exactly that, and The Sunrise adds a week of breakfast for two.
